While I do not accept or bill private insurance, your insurance plan’s “out-of-network” benefit may cover some percentage of treatment.

If you decide to seek reimbursement from your insurance company, you will need to confirm your insurance plan accepts “out-of-network” mental health care. I can provide you with a detailed invoice (called a "superbill") that makes the reimbursement process simple and straightforward.

Please note that I CANNOT guarantee reimbursement, nor call your insurance provider to confirm coverage benifits.

Why I don’t take insurance:

• Reduced Agency: Due to insurance regulations, both the client and therapist have less control over the frequency of sessions and the length of the therapeutic relationship.

• Lack of Privacy: Insurance companies require session notes, diagnoses and details about your personal information.

• Continuity: If your insurance changes, you would have to change your therapist and start over with a new therapeutic relationship. This can be detrimental to treatment, and very challenging emotionally.

• Challenges with Reimbursement to the Provider: Insurance companies sometimes fail to reimburse claims to providers in a timely manner, if at all. They also frequently do not reimburse the full rate providers set.
